Welcome to the 2010 Harvard Latino Law and Policy Conference.

The Harvard Latino Law and Policy Conference is jointly hosted by La Alianza, a student organization at Harvard Law School, and the Latino Caucus, a student organization at the Harvard Kennedy School. This annual conference, now entering into its 13th year, convenes students, alumni, faculty, and practitioners from a diverse array of private, public, and non-profit backgrounds to discuss key issues affecting Latino communities today.

This year's theme is Justice and Power: A Dialogue.

This year's conference will address justice and power dynamics in the United States and Latin America. While our discourse will be viewed predominantly through the lens of Latino actors and communities, these are issues of global interest.

A networking fair, Keynote speech, documentary film screening, and private brunch are among the many events planned to allow participants and presenters to interact in a variety of ways, and create opportunities for learning and discussion. There will also be three panel discussions on the topics of Immigration Reform, Anti-Drug-Trafficking Policy, and Human Rights Protection in Latin America. We have invited panelists and speakers from a range of fields who represent a variety of viewpoints, in order to provide a forum for thought-provoking and reasoned discussion in hopes of shedding new light on controversial issues.

We look forward to meeting you on March 5th through 7th!

Our Mission

The Latino Law and Policy Conference’s mission is threefold.

We seek to:

  • Encourage a forward-thinking dialogue about key issues affecting Latinos in the U.S. and abroad.
  • Build connections among change-makers active in law, politics, business, media, community development, higher education, and other fields.
  • Inspire the next generation of Latino leaders by fostering continuous dialogue and networking opportunities among fellow students, alumni, and professionals
