Michael Camilleri
Michael Camilleri is a human rights specialist with the Office of the Special Rapporteur for Freedom of Expression of the Inter-American Commission on Human Rights (IACHR). Prior to joining the IACHR, Mr. Camilleri was a senior staff attorney at the Center for Justice and International Law, where he served as lead counsel in dozens of matters before the Inter-American Commission and Inter-American Court of Human Rights, including successful litigation against the governments of Colombia and the United States. Mr. Camilleri received his J.D. from Harvard Law School, where he co-founded Harvard Law Student Advocates for Human Rights, and worked with non-governmental organizations in Guatemala as the recipient of a Henigson Fellowship from the Harvard Law School Human Rights Program. He has lectured and written on human rights issues in the U.S. and Latin America, and he is currently an adjunct professor at the University of Baltimore School of Law.


Juana Ines Acosta Lopez
Juana Acosta is the head of the international law department of the Alumbra asesores law firm in Bogota, Colombia. She also serves as an advisor to the Colombian Ministry of Foreign Affairs, acting as an agent before the Inter-American Court of Human Rights. Prior to joining Alumbra asesores, she was the coordinator of the Group of International Human Rights Litigation in the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, where she represented the State of Colombia in the Inter-American Commission of Human Rights hearings in Washington, D.C. Ms. Acosta received her J.D. from the Pontificia Universidad Javeriana de Colombia, and a Master's in Human Rights and Democratization from the Universidad Externado de Colombia and Universidad Carlos III de Madrid. She is currently a professor at the Universidad Santo Tomas, the Pontificia Universidad Javeriana, and the Universidad de La Sabana, and has written extensively on the inter-American system and human rights.
